PhD in Physics at Bologna University, more than 30 years research experience in the field of atmospheric studies and technological research in remote and mountain areas (Antarctica, Himalaya, Alps and Apennines). In the 1994-2015 he was the head of the CNR GAW Global Station at Monte Cimone, which he founded in the nineties. Since 2006 he is in charge of the Nepal Climate Observatory - Pyramid Global GAW Station in the Himalaya.
Adjunt Professor of Environmental Physics Laboratory at Urbino University; he promoted "The Atmosphere Path - Il Sentiero dell’Atmosfera", an educational path for schools and tourists on Mt. Cimone (2004). Author of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers.
PI in more than 20 international and national projects, now is coordinator of INFORMARE PROAMBIENTE project, POR-FESR 2014-2020 Emilia-Romagna.
