Anthropologist, journalist and writer
Duccio Canestrini is an Italian anthropologist, journalist and writer. He currently holds the position of lecturer of Sociology and Anthropology of Tourism at the Lucca University Campus (Italy). While working on staff – both as a reporter and Anthropology editor - for the Italian geographical magazine "Airone" he traveled extensively to all continents. He is the author of ten books and some video and audio documentaries (Ethiopia, Amazonia, Malaysia). His show-and-tell lectures for public at large deal with a number of topics as history of travels, man and environment, modern rites. His book Antropop. La tribù globale (Bollati Boringhieri) is a manifesto of a communcation style in anthropology, that aspires to be “popular”, and engaging.
