Roberto Micera is Senior Researcher at the Institute for Studies on the Mediterranean (ISMED) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), where he is scientific coordinator, with Piera Buonincontri, of the research line "Tourism Economics and Management". He is professor of Management and Territorial Marketing at the University of Basilicata, where he was professor in Tourism Destination Management & Marketing. He hold a Master in Economics of Tourism at the University Luigi Bocconi in Milan and the Phd in Business Science at the University of Naples Federico II. He was visiting scholar at the Ohio State University. In recent years, he has been involved in many research projects on management of tourism destination and tourism firms and he is author of papers about marketing and ICT in tourism firm, governance of tourism local systems, destination image management, destination competitiveness and smart tourism destination. He has also many job assignments in the tourism sector and in corporate management working with businesses, organizations, associations and local tourism operators.
