Chief Visionary Officer, Destination Makers Regional Councillor for Tourism, Brindisi
A committed businesswoman and expert in destination marketing and social impact management with international experience with leading travel brands (TripAdvisor, World Travel Market, etc.), Emma left her career in London to return to Italy and found Destination Makers, a boutique consultancy company with a fully remote team since 2014. Together, they design promotional and marketing paths for destinations shared with local communities, in line with the latest market trends.
She is a lecturer and speaker at international events, including the Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and the United Nations World Tourism Organization Silk Road Workshop. She is the creator of two initiatives today considered as best practices in regional marketing and “possible change”: Recharge in Nature, a marketing campaign for the relaunch post-Storm Adrian that went viral with almost 20,000 applications from all over the world for a stay enabling participants to totally disconnect at a lodge in the heart of the Dolomites, and Sea Working Brindisi, a project – covered by all the main national media outlets – launched during the pandemic to reposition a marginal area as a destination for nomad workers and persuade companies to relocate to the South.
A passionate nomad, she recently chose to return to Brindisi to “be the change” and offer the city her expertise. In recognition of her commitment, she was made Councillor for Tourism, Regional Marketing and Creativity.
