After his studies at the Brera Academy and various experiences in the field of visual arts, Leonardo Sangiorgi was one of the three founders of Studio Azzurro, starting a research activity oriented towards the expressive and poetic capabilities of technologies.
Currently after the Fellini Museum Rimini is following museum projects for the Vechio Hospital in Parma, the archaeological site of Egnazia and the castle of Gorizia.
With Studio Azzurro, Leonardo Sangiorgi has received several awards including the 1996 Quadrennial Award, Grand Prix Transmediale 1998, (Berlin), Golden Sun 1999, (Video-Television Festival Riccione).
In addition, he carries out training and teaching activities at various workshops and seminars for various universities.
Studio Azzurro is an artistic research group founded in Milan in 1982 by Fabio Cirifino (photography), Paolo Rosa (visual arts and cinema) and Leonardo Sangiorgi (graphics and animation). Stefano Roveda, an expert in interactive systems, joined the group from 1995 to 2011. For forty years the Studio has been investigating the poetic and expressive possibilities of multimedia languages that so strongly affect the relationships and models of networking of our era.
