FAI, the non-profit foundation established in 1975 with the mission to protect and promote Italy’s historic, artistic and landscape heritage, proposes not just active holidays, but the “experience” of an active visit, all the better if totally green.
At this conference, the Fondo Ambiente Italiano illustrates the visit experiences that enable visitors to actively experience art and nature, promoting regions through bicycle and walking tours, and thereby leveraging on regional and cultural identities.
At a time when experiential tourism is registering significant growth, FAI has enhanced its range of proposals with bioenergy sessions among age-old trees, forest bathing, study and research activities on marine biodiversity, trekking with star gazing, olive harvesting, orange harvesting and much more.

Two successful case histories will be presented during the conference:

  • Calabria – The Giants of the Sila: trekking and bioenergy
  • Campania - La Baia di Ieranto: trekking and monitoring of marine diversity
